Hi!  I am Kaia! Kaia means “Earth” in Norwegian and I live up to that by homesteading and striving to live simply and self-sustainably.  My first word was “happy,” I still love playing and coaching sports like soccer and volleyball and softball, my favorite color is yellow, and I homeschool my kids.  I'm married to a stunningly handsome, ridiculously talented, and intensely loving musician husband. We have five beautiful kids and we all live happily ever after in a little house on a hill in the land of southern Wisconsin. 

I am a portrait photographer (senior pictures, newborn photography, family photographer, boudoir photographer... ) and freelance photographer serving the greater Madison area.  I fell in love with portrait photography in high school.  I love that great portraits tell a person's story; who they are, where they've been, and what they love. I also fell in love with photojournalism in high school. Now-a-days you can catch my work in Madison Magazine, GoDaddy Social, Tough Mudder Rockford, BRAVA Magazine, and AirBnb;  I’ve had the privilege of being on the cover several times now!

I strive to serve my clients lovingly, creating a series of memories you can cherish forever, and making you my forever friend. We do that by having fun! Since we want you to look like your natural, beautiful self we start with your natural poses and I direct you from there. I'm more than just your portrait photographer, I give life to your memories. During our shoot you'll be taking lots of breaks from smiling right at the camera to interact with each other and have some fun!
